This month's film is To Olivia (2021).
The unbearable grief of losing a child is a challenging subject for any movie to encompass. Olivia, the seven-year-old daughter of movie star Patricia Neal and children’s book author Roald Dahl, died in 1962 when she contracted measles and then died of encephalitis.
The film portrays their individual struggles as the family comes closer together after Olivia’s death. Neal gains emotional intelligence for her acting career, Dahl is able to accept comments on his work resulting in his famous book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. A second daughter, Tessa, begins
to heal after the loss of her older sister. Hugh Bonneville plays Roald Dahl, Keeley Hawes plays Patricia Neal.
